Training and Fundraising Launch for Banque Scotia 21K de Montreal

January 13th. Well, it’s not just the elite athletes like Dayna Pidhoresky and Kate Vaughan who are starting to commit to 21K de Montreal and crank things up for April 17th — its OUR turn to get going, too!

75 keeners get ready for their initial training run in the Boutique Endurance Training Clinic for Banque Scotia 21K de Montreal on Jan. 9th.

The 14-week TRAINING Programme begins this week with Bert Barcelos and the experts at Boutique Endurance. They had 75 keeners out on Sunday morning for the first group run, an easy 60 minute jog. They’ll meet every Wednesday evening and Sunday morning from now ’til race day, at the Boutique Endurance store, 6579 rue St-Denis. Full details on the in-store Clinic and some Asics “Specials” to get you though the next 3 months are at:

For those of us who can’t get to the store, Bert has kindly posted the full 14-week Programme online, so we can ALL follow along with l’Equipe Endurance!

And online FUNDRAISINGfor the “Scotiabank Group Charity Challenge” at Banque Scotia 21K went “live” yesterday. As the slogan says: 24 charities. One goal: $300,000 towards making Montreal a better place. There is a really nice array of “Official” charities signed up this year, from health/disease related charities like MS, Alzheimer’s, and Huntington’s to health-related institutions like CHUM, Ste-Justine and Ronald McDonald House, to important local service agencies like Le Chainon, Old Brewery Mission, West Island Women’s Shelter and Share the Warmth. Make your 21K de Montreal experience that much special this year — check out our 24 charities, pick one, and set yourself up online to raise a few dollars for an important local cause. Together, we CAN make a difference!
