TORONTO. March 11th. Canada Running Series has announced that Clif Bar & Company will be their exclusive partner for the 2011 season in the energy and nutrition bar and gel categories. The sponsorship will bring popular CLIF® BARs, CLIF Builder’s® bars and CLIF SHOT® Energy Gels to CRS events this year.
Canada Running Series is widely regarded as Canada’s #1 running circuit with eight premier events: five in Toronto, two in Vancouver and one in Montreal, including both Canada’s 10K Road and Half Marathon Championships. The Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon & Half on October 16th is their Grand Finale and signature event, with more than 20,000 participants. One of only two IAAF Silver Label marathons in North America, Toronto Waterfront 2010 had the four fastest men’s times ever run on Canadian soil, the four fastest women’s times ever run on Canadian soil, and the fastest time ever by a Canadian on Canadian soil. The top three women ran the 6th, 7th and 8th fastest times in the world last year, and all three will be starting in Boston this Spring. The Series drew 56,000 total participants last year and raised almost C$5 million for 200 mostly-local charities.
