- “Join the movement” with hashtag #TYS10K on Twitter and Instagram; see yourself and interact on our SOCIAL HUB
TORONTO. February 4th. Following the tremendous response we received from our online community during the 2012 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, Canada Running Series is excited to announce the launch of our 2013 Toronto Yonge Street 10k social media campaign today!
Using the hashtag #TYS10K, we are inviting all race participants, family, friends and spectators to join the conversation about the race over the next 3 months, sharing thoughts on reasons-to-run, training, fundraising and getting ready for the big day on Sunday, April 21st.
To enhance the social media sharing experience, CRS is again partnering with Jugnoo, the Social CRM Company, who have created an online social hub where all the content YOU create using hashtag #TYS10K will appear! Every time you post a message to twitter or upload a picture to Instagram with the #TYS10K tag, your content will appear amongst hundreds of other posts which will all come together to tell the story of the Toronto Yonge Street 10K as it unfolds.
You can access the Jugnoo hub from your computer or smartphone. All the content on the hub is sharable, which means you can favourite, reply, retweet, and share other users’ posts. Whether it’s a training run update, a motivational message, a picture from the start line, or an exciting status from along the course, everything you share becomes part of our #TYS10K online community. Most importantly, YOU become part of our Canada Running Series community.
According to coordinator Jenna Pettinato, “I’m thrilled to lead the Canada Running Series social media team for the Toronto Yonge Street 10K. Alan Brookes and Canada Running Series have an international reputation for organization and innovation. They are now truly setting the pace for digital innovation in the running community, and I believe we are creating a precedent for community engagement among similar events all over the world!”
Beginning today, and up until April 21st, follow the official Canada Running Series twitter account @RunCRS and send us your pictures and messages using the #TYS10K hashtag! The content you create will become an online memory that we all can share; thousands of runners, spectators, family, and friends.
The launch of the Social Media campaign is timed to coordinate with the start of the Official Training Clinics at 25+ Running Room locations across Ontario this week and next; and a weekly feature in METRO newspaper beginning this Thursday.
Let’s build a buzz, make some noise and show Toronto what being a runner is all about!
