Please support Autism Dog Services Inc. (ADS) in the 2012 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon / Half Marathon & 5k Charity Challenge on October 14, 2012! This will be our second year participating in this event and we need your help to meet our goal of raising $18,000 to support ADS service dog placements in Southwestern Ontario.

ADS fosters the integration of children with autism and related disorders by training placing and supporting dogs that offer safety, companionship and independence. ADS service dogs are handled by the child's parent. The service dogs are trained to respond and follow commands given by the child's parent, while at home and in the community or by an educator, while at school. Parents are fully responsible for the service dog's care and maintenance and the child is responsible for assisting the caregiver with tasks relating to the service dog to enhance the child's communication, socialization and independence.

We are participating in the Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon Charity Challenge to increase awareness about ADS service dog program, as well as raise much-needed funds to meet the ever-increasing demand for our service dog program. Donations raised through our participation in this event will be used to support our program to raise, train and place service dogs with children and families living with autism.
