About The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada
The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada is a grassroots charity dedicated to providing a once-in-a-lifetime experience to children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. Established in 1984 on the kitchen table of an inspired and committed volunteer, Children's Wish has grown into a national organization with chapters in every province.
We have granted more than 16,500 wishes for children and their families and fulfill over 950 wishes annually. Each wish is an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of each particular child. We are proud to say that we have never denied an eligible child a wish and there is no waiting list.
For a child whose wish is about to be granted, the pain and discomfort of the illness and often harsh treatment regimes somehow become more bearable. The excitement of planning and anticipating their dream has a dramatic effect on the healing of many children. These courageous youngsters often experience a renewed sense of energy and hope as they see a different kind of light at the end of the tunnel.

Dear Children's Wish Foundation,
Our family cannot thank you enough for the wish you granted for our son Christian. This was such a magical experience for our family and wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for your wonderful organization. We had a fabulous time aboard the Disney Magic for our 7 day Caribbean Cruise. We can't speak more highly of the Disney Cruise line, they certainly made our family feel special, and were very accommodating to Christian.
I don't think a day went by that my eyes didn't well up with tears just seeing the look on my boys' faces. It was such an incredible feeling to be able to experience something so great with our entire family present. Christian was so happy. He actually did better on the trip as far as seizures and sleeping habits go, than he does at home.
We are truly appreciative of all you have done for us and the memories you have enabled us to make. We will cherish our memories and pictures forever.
