Gymnastics Canada — Adopt a Gymnast

Gymnastics Canada — Adopt a Gymnast

First established in 1969, Gymnastics Canada is the national governing body for the sport of gymnastics in Canada; a sport recognized by the International Olympic Committee and Sport Canada as a foundation for all sports because it helps develop fundamental movement skills (i.e. agility, balance, coordination and speed).

Gymnastics is much more than what you see at the Olympics. These elite athletes are one part of the big family of gymnastics. In fact all the gymnastics disciplines offer opportunities for fun, participation, learning and competition regardless of age, gender or ability.

In Canada, the family of gymnastics includes six different competitive disciplines Artistic (men's and women's), Rhythmic, Trampoline, Aerobic and Acrobatic gymnastics. Gymnastics-for-ALL is the historical and cultural base of all gymnastics and incorporates educational and recreational gymnastics activities.

Working closely with the twelve Provincial Federations and 700 local clubs, Gymnastics Canada promotes fitness, well-being and social values at all levels of interest and ability.
