Our goal is to encourage self-sufficiency and an enhanced quality of life in 2 of the world’s poorest countries; Bolivia South America and Mali West Africa. In both these countries approximately half the population (that’s about 12 million people combined) lives below the international poverty line of US $1.25 a day.
While the communities in these countries are located off the beaten track and geographically located half way around the world from each other, their needs are very similar: families in need of clean drinking water, healthcare for their sick and educational resources to improve their quality of life. We work with the leaders and people of the communities we serve to determine their needs and how best to address them.
HATN volunteers travel overseas to work shoulder to shoulder with community members in a way that not only allows for transfer of skills and expertise in areas such as construction and medical aid but fosters deep friendships and long lasting bonds between the villagers and volunteers. HATN’s projects include:
We hope you will support us by sponsoring, or running with, the HATN Team. Please help us achieve our goal of $10,000 so that we can continue to improve the lives of people in the poorest countries in the world, one community at a time.
