
Every child born to a parent with Huntington disease has a 50% chance of sharing the same fate. Passed from parent to child, this debilitating brain disorder is inevitably fatal and completely incurable — until now. In 2006, for the first time in 135 years of study, Huntington's was successfully cured in a mouse. We've never been closer to eliminating this disease. It takes about 25,000 steps to run a marathon — but each step you take with our team takes us closer to a cure, the ultimate finish line.

The Huntington Society of Canada (HSC) is a national network of volunteers and professionals united in the fight against HD since 1973.
The HSC aspires to a world free from Huntington disease. The Society maximizes the quality of life of people living with HD by:
Specifically, the HSC is part of an international movement to find treatments to slow the progression of HD or to prevent symptoms altogether. Donations fund research in the arenas of basic science and special interest areas including symptomatic relief. Additionally, the Individual and Family Service program supports over 3,000 individuals affected by HD through information, professional education/consultation, counselling, mutual support, and referral services.
