In the developing world, violence is an everyday threat for the poor.
Throughout the developing world, fear of violence is part of everyday life for the poor. It's as much a part of poverty as hunger, disease or malnutrition. The poorest are so vulnerable because their justice systems — police, courts and laws — don't protect them from violent people. According to the United Nations, justice systems in the developing world are so broken that the majority of poor people live life "far from the law's protection."
International Justice Mission Canada works to protect the poor from violence by rescuing victims, bringing the criminals to justice, restoring survivors to safety and strength, and helping local law enforcement build a safe future that lasts.
By running in the 2014 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon for International Justice Mission Canada you can help make justice possible. Raise awareness, raise funds and run!
As an additional incentive, we will waive the registration fee for the first 10 registrants who commit to raise $200 or more. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
