Maccabi Canada is proud to be returning as an official charity of the Scotiabank Charity Challenge in 2015. As a national amateur sports and athletic movement, Maccabi Canada is about encouraging athletic competition, fitness, healthy living, and sports development. A wonderful by-product of our activities is to develop and cultivate our youth to become future community leaders through their participation in sports. Once every four years, the Maccabi World Union, of which Maccabi Canada has been a proud member since 1950, gathers in Israel to compete with over 75 other countries and 9000 athletes in the Maccabiah Games, an Olympic style event. The Games is the third largest event in the world after the Summer Olympics and University games. With your help, the money raised from the Scotiabank Charity Challenge will go to support Maccabi Canada's Adopt An Athlete program which helps send elite athletes, who otherwise cannot afford it, to compete in the Maccabiah Games.
