Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC)

The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is the country's leading land conservation organization, working to protect our valuable natural areas and the plants and animals they sustain.

Since 1962 NCC and its partners have helped to protect more than 2.6 million acres (1 Million hectares), coast to coast. By investing in conservation we are ensuring our natural world remains a home for wildlife, a haven for recreation, and a vital resource that filters the air we breathe and the water we drink. Through strong partnerships NCC works to safeguard our natural areas so that our children and grandchildren will have the chance to enjoy them.

NCC uses leading edge conservation science to guide its efforts to protect our lands. This scientific rigour allows NCC to identify priority conservation opportunities, secure those lands, and then plan, manage and care for our portfolio for the long term.

The threats to Canada's rich natural heritage are greatest in the south — this is where most Canadians live, competing for space with the majority of our species at risk. This is also where NCC concentrates its conservation efforts, whether in forests, wetlands, grasslands, on working ranches or in coastal habitat.

We hope you'll take this opportunity to join our Force For Nature help save the lands and wildlife that are so integral to our national identity.

As a thank you, if you join our team and help us meet our goal, we would like to send you an organic NCC Force For Nature t-shirt to wear during the race or anytime you'd like! Also, our best fundraiser will win a tour of an NCC property near them!
