Participate, or pledge your support to help the Red Door in this year's Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Charity Challenge. This is our fifth year participating so let's make it a great one!
It is the mission of the Red Door Family Shelter to provide safe and supportive emergency housing to individuals and families in need of refuge from domestic violence, and to those who find themselves without accommodation.
The Red Door assists residents in their efforts to establish a stable life outside the shelter through education, counseling, community services and advocacy on their behalf.
For 30 years the Red Door Family Shelter has been on the front lines of delivering support services to homeless families, abused women and their children. The Red Door helps reduce the impact of homelessness by providing safe and supportive emergency shelter to over 500 families every year in the GTA.
Family homelessness is often a reality that is neglected, but one that the shelter works hard to recognize by providing services to the family as a whole. The wide variety of programs help clients rebuild their lives and help their children heal. These include: counselling, medical assistance and referrals, legal and immigration assistance, child care and educational programs, support in securing permanent housing and ongoing outreach.
If you are unable to join us on October 19, please show your support by sponsoring an individual or Team Red Door.
