No Matter who you are,
No Matter where you go in life,
You're goin' to need somebody
To stand by you….
'Stand By Me' is a famous song, but it is also a simple request from our members who we support in their recovery from mental illness and addictions. Some of our members need supportive housing, others need a tireless advocate to help them with their challenges and others need to know we are there for them when they need us. Just like you and me, they all need support in difficult times.
Regen provides housing and case management services to over 400 people recovering from mental health and addictions issues. This support includes 260 supportive housing units.
At Regeneration Community Services (Regen), we know that people with even the most severe mental illnesses and addictions can recover to live meaningful and productive lives. Our thirty year track record has shown us how sustained, pragmatic action has led our clients to stability, health, and employment.
Our programs are based on the recovery philosophy: We support our members in achieving their goals, meeting their needs, and engaging in the community. In addition to our core services, we have introduced a comprehensive, Road to Recovery Initiative designed to overcome the practical obstacles to recovery experienced by many of our members. It includes on-the-job training, allowing members to earn money while gaining confidence and skills; on-site education opportunities and bursaries to allow tenants to take training courses, and to create opportunities for social participation, from summer camp to music lessons, barbecues to movie passes; and a Rainy Day Fund to ensure unforeseen losses don't threaten a tenant's recovery. By walking or running for Regen you will be helping to support our Road to Recovery Initiative.
"Without Regen, its Bursary and Rainy Day funds, without the people and programs of this wonderful organization, the world would be much blacker. Without our generous and caring donors, Regen would be much colder, I thank every single donor… for allowing Regen to help so very much. Regen has given me my self-respect back."
