Save a Child's Heart (SACH) is an Israel-based international humanitarian project, whose mission is to improve the quality of paediatric cardiac care for children from developing countries who suffer from heart disease and to create centres of competence in these countries. To date we have provided care to over 2,800 children from Africa, South America, Europe, Asia and throughout the Middle East.
Many of our children come from areas ravaged by war and nature such as Iraq, Haiti, Sri Lanka and the Palestinian Authority.
SACH is completely dedicated to the idea that every child deserves the best medical treatment available, regardless of the child's nationality, religion, race, gender or financial situation.
At the Wolfson Medical Center in Israel, SACH brings medical personnel from countries around the globe for in-depth post-graduate training in all facets of paediatric care. Since its inception in 1995, SACH has trained 56 physicians and nurses from a host of countries including: China, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Moldova, Nigeria, the Palestinian Authority, Romania, Russia, Tanzania and Vietnam. This is how SACH is able to expand its impact exponentially, as the doctors who receive this training return to their home countries better equipped to treat children.
It costs SACH $10,000 to save the life of one child.
