Please join the SCRF team this fall and be a runner or walker for the SCRF in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. Last year over $100,000 was raised for research through marathon events! We are looking for participants in the Full Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K Run or Walk.
The Sanfilippo Children's Research Foundation is the only Canadian charity raising money to find a treatment for Sanfilippo Syndrome, a terminal illness that affects only children. This condition stops normal development and causing hyperactivity, sleep disorders, loss of speech, dementia and finally death in mid teems. The SCRF is run only by volunteers and over 96% of every dollar donated has been committed to research. Hundreds of people have hit the streets in past years to run for those children who can't and have raised over $200,000 through these efforts to find a treatment and a cure.
Elisa Linton plans to complete the half marathon walk again this year in her wheelchair with her mom and friends.
To join the “For Elisa For Life” team please contact Elisabeth Linton at Elisabeth@alifeforelisa.org or 416-223-1911.

“Strides for Sophie” is a charity run to raise research funds for the Sanfilippo Children's Reseach Foundation in the hopes of finding a treatment or cure that will benefit the thousands of kids like Sophie worldwide.
Our goal for Strides for Sophie 2.0 is to match the 2010 success of raising $80,000 towards these promising studies. As we were blessed with several significant one-time contributions last year, this is a stretch goal, but one that we believe we can collectively meet.
To learn more about Sophie and the condition that's slowly claiming her life, please go to www.stridesforsophie.ca.
If you have been moved by Sophie's story, then there are two ways you can help:
Entry fees are waived for everyone who raises a minimum of $300, and each participant will receive their own web page to solicit donations and track progress.
To join the “Strides for Sophie” Team please contact Sarah Hamza at info@stridesforsophie.ca or 416-960-4996.
We have t-shirts we'd love to give you to wear. Please contact us for more details.
There is still lots of time to train!
