We are committed to achieving the highest standard of patient care, teaching, innovation, community partnership and accountability: Above all, we care. We know how hard healthcare providers work and the extra burden of giving care that they experience. For our staff to continue to provide quality care to our community, we are committed to providing programs that will create quality employees.
Our goals as a team are Wellness, Awareness/Exposure, Team Building and Fund Raising. We are promoting the event to our staff and community in order to promote wellness within our organization and the community. Because the race course for the Marathon runs directly through the community we serve, we feel it is important to not only participate in this event but also use it to promote our hospital. Our hospital has recently been the recipient of a Silver Award for our Wellness programs; The Canada Award for Excellence as well as the 2006 OHA Healthy Hospital Innovators Award. We are now going for Gold and hope to achieve this with our even further expanded programs and excellence. Our staff and community will benefit from the physical and mental wellness aspect in training for and participating in the event.
Fundraising incentives:
- $25 gift card with fundraising minimum of $250 raised
- $50 gift card with fundraising minimum of $500 raised
- $100 gift card with fundraising minimum of $1,000 raised
at any of the following:- The Running Room, Chapters/Indigo, Shoppers Drug Mart, Mountain Equipment Co-op, LCBO, or in-house Wellness Therapies
- TEGH Event day shirt – yes a 2nd shirt (microfibre shirt for full and half Marathoners and cotton t-shirt for 5km Event)
Fundraising Minimums
Marathon & Half Marathon - $125
5K Run or Walk - $50
- Tax Receipts will be issued for all amounts over $10
- You have the option of canvassing for the funds, making a one-time donation of the total amount or setting up payroll deductions
- Fundraising must be completed by September 12, 2008 to be eligible to be on the TEGH team.
- 100% of funds raised will be used towards staff wellness at TEGH.
