"Before attending YES I was frustrated on a daily basis. I was homeless, lacked proper interview clothes, and no matter how many jobs I applied for I couldn't find work. YES has found me employment and given me the skills to keep my employment." — Wendy, YES client
You can help more youth like Wendy by joining the Youth Employment Services YES team! Since 1968, YES has been helping Toronto's disadvantaged and vulnerable youth find jobs. Many of our clients are facing challenges such as homelessness, a low level of education, a criminal record, a mental health disorder, and/or drug abuse.
By participating in the Marathon and helping to raise awareness and funds for YES, you can help youth overcome these challenges and achieve their goals. Your support will help them to develop new skills, increase their work readiness, find and maintain a job, and achieve their personal and professional goals. 86% of YES clients achieve a successful outcome! (Find employment, return to school, or enroll in further training).
With the unemployment rate remaining high in Toronto — 18.1% of youth that are looking for work are unemployed and 56.5% of all youth are unemployed — now is the best time to take action!
If you aren't able to participate in the Marathon but you want to support YES, we encourage you to fundraise for us and/or sponsor other runners! For more information, contact Justine Katz at firstname.lastname@example.org.
