Once considered a feat for superhuman athletes, running is now within every mortal's grasp. Coach Jenny Hadfield has created ten winning training plans for the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, Half and 5K that work for every mortal—even you.

Jenny is a published author of three books (Marathoning for Mortals, Running for Mortals, Training for Mortals), writer, coach, speaker and endurance athlete. She has a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, a Masters Degree in Exercise Science and is a certified coach and personal trainer. She is a Columnist for Health Magazine, Women's Running Magazine, writes an "Ask Coach Jenny" blog for RunnersWorld.com, and has written for Cooking Light, Her Sports, the Chicago Tribune, and Chicago Athlete Magazines.

In the Marathoning for Mortals programmes, you'll find the courage to train, the will power to persevere, and the tenacity to finish one mile after another. The Training Schedules: Getting Started

MFM at STWM training schedules from The Penguin and Coach Jenny

What to run or walk every day with helpful hints and advice.

  • MARATHON:
    Four training programs: Walk, Run-Walk, Run, and Advanced Run
    20 weeks, starting Monday May 10th
  • HALF MARATHON:
    Three half marathon training programs: Run-Walk, Run, and Advanced Run
    14 weeks, starting Monday June 21st
  • WATERFRONT 5K:
    Three 5K training programs: Walk, Run-Walk and Run
    10 weeks, starting Monday July 19th

The above program links are to partial schedules only. Full programs are FREE—but you have to register for STWM (marathon, half or 5k) and get the password!
