TORONTO. August 8th. CONGRATULATIONS Louise!
Louise Roberge, a self-described back-of-the-packer and big "10 & 1" fan, wins the lucky draw for the trip for two to CAY-MAN in December.
I am so excited to have won the trip to the Cayman Islands for the race!
I joined the Running Room a few years ago for my first clinic for half marathon. Since then I have run Chili twice and I did Scotia Toronto Waterfront once.
I have been a runner for 25 years, running 5 to 10 k spring, summer and fall.
But joining the clinic has changed my enjoyment of running. The 10 and one has made running long distances more approachable. When I go out for a long run I do not think I will be running for 2 hours, all I think about is do I have an extra 10 minutes in me.
The coaches have helped me with nutrition and hydration and that has also made a difference in my energy level.
But what I like more about the Clinics is the camaraderie, the friends you meet every week. I am part of the "fun" group at the back of the pack where talking and supporting each other gets me through some days were I am not always in top shape.
Meeting my running buddies Krista and Johanna on Tuesday and Friday morning at 6:30 AM at RR just starts my day on the bright side rain or shine.
I am looking forward to joining the group at the Scotia Toronto Waterfront; and then my first race out of the country at the Cayman Islands.
WOW! And THANKS Scotia Toronto Waterfront, Running Room and Cayman Islands. Here I come!
