And THANKS to the almost 5,000 British runners who entered the contest on www.runnersworld.co.uk.
Stuart and his wife Eeva will fly in comfort on www.canadianaffair.com from Gatwick and stay at the 4-star Sheraton Toronto Centre Hotel across from Nathan Phillips [City Hall] Square—site of the free, Friday Night Welcome Concert on September 22nd.
Stuart has a great story. Come join him and Eeva on September 24th and run the Toronto Waterfront!
I started running two years ago. I'm retired, with two grown-up daughters and I started running as a challenge for my 60th birthday. Now I enjoy it so much that I've carried on because it makes me feel good, I enjoy the atmosphere of competing in races and it's good for my old bones!
I completed one marathon and two half-marathons last year (in London, Paris and Gothenburg). Earlier this year I wanted to complete another marathon but unfortunately I was injured and had to withdraw. As a result I was looking for an event in the autumn, so winning this trip is perfect for my plans. I normally run four times a week, three short runs and one longer run, and run on my own.
I entered the RW UK competition because I wanted to win—but I never thought I had a chance of winning. However, the prize was so good, especially for an old crinkly like me, that I couldn't afford to miss it!
