Team GB claims their first Scotiabank International Team Challenge crown in close duel with Team Mexico at STWM07 Team GB were crowned Scotiabank International Team Challenge Champions at Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon '07 yesterday, after being bridesmaids the last 2 years in a row. John Kelai runs 2:09:30 for fastest time ever on Canadian soil at Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Kenya's John Kelai won a thrilling duel with defending champion, Daniel Rono, at this morning's Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront to record the fastest time ever run on Canadian soil, 2:09:30. In so doing, Kelai eclipsed the mark of 2:09:55, set by East Germany's Waldemar Cierpinski at the 1976 Olympic Marathon in Montreal. >more

Marathon Man I and Marathon Woman I sculptures by Inge Johnson, unveiled for Canadian All-comers record breakers at Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Two unique sculptures by Canadian artist Inge Johnson were unveiled at this morning's press conference for the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, to be run on Sunday, September 30th. Can Danny Kassap revive his Cinderella story? One of the major stories at the 2004 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon was the surprise victory of a local runner, a 22-year-old Congolese refugee named Danny Kassap who crossed the line first in a then course record of 2:14:50. Scotiabank announces $20,000 cash bonus for Women's Canadian All-comers record: Biktimirova and Gigi confirmed to join Sobanska: Scotiabank today announced a C$20,000 cash bonus for anyone who can set a new Women's Canadian All-comers record at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon on September 30th.
