STWM has given them a terrific opportunity for a fast time, that could be their ticket to "The Show".

Men's & Women's Prize Money (CDN$)

  • 1st — $20,000
  • 2nd — $12,000
  • 3rd — $10,000
  • 4th — $8,000
  • 5th — $5,000
  • 6th — $3,000
  • 7th — $2,000

Plus BONUSES for winners only:

MEN:

  • Course & Canadian All comers record (sub 2:08:32) = additional C$20,000
  • IF new time is sub 2:08, add an additional C$10,000 for a C$30,000 bonus.

WOMEN:

  • Course record (sub 2:28:31): C$5,000
  • Canadian All comers record (sub 2:26:01): C$20,000 + the C$5,000 for Course Record = C$25,000
  • For sub-2:25:00 victory add a further C$5,000 for a total C$30,000 bonus.

Canadian National Records BONUSES (Canadian Citizens Only)

MEN:

  • C$1,000 for every year that Jerome Drayton's 2:10:09 record has stood (Fukuoka 1975). Thus, for STWM2010, the bonus will be C$35,000.

WOMEN:

  • C$1,000 for every year that Silvia Ruegger's 2:28:36 record has stood (Houston 1985). Thus, for STWM2010, the bonus will be C$25,000.

Canadian Athletes' BONUSES

  • 1st — $5000
  • 2nd — $3000
  • 3rd — $2000
  • 4th — $1000
  • * minus 50% for slower than 2:15 & 2:35 (Men & Women); minus 75% for slower than 2:18 & 2:40 (Men & Women)

Men's Time Bonuses:

  • sub 2:11 = US$2,000
  • sub 2:10 = US$5,000 (top 5)
  • sub 2:09 = US$10,000 (top 4)
  • sub 2:08:30 = US$12,500 (top 4)
  • sub 2:08 = US$15,000 (top 3)
  • sub 2:07:30 = US$17,500 (top 3)

Contest Rules

Canada Running Series
  1. It's free to enter, and you can enter as many times as you want.
  2. Select your picks for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Men and Women's finishers at Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, to be run at 7:30am on Sunday, September 26th, 2010.
  3. Contest will close at 7am, Sunday morning, September 26th, 2010.
  4. WINNER will receive travel (airfare or ground) for TWO from your city of residence (or nearest airport) to any CRS2011 event. (eg. If you live in Toronto, you can choose to go to a Vancouver or Montreal CRS2011 event).
  5. The contest is open to international residents, not just residents of Canada. But if the winner lives outside Canada, a maximum allowance of CDN$1,000 per person will be credited towards each of the two tickets.
  6. IF there are multiple entries with the correct answer, we'll then do a draw from amongst these correct selections to determine the ONE winner of the Trip for 2. Consolation prizes may also be given out for those who did not win the grand prize.
  7. IF there is no-one with the correct Picks, then we will move onto those who selected 1-2 in one gender and 1-2-3 correct in the other gender, to find a winner.
  8. Don't forget to go to the BIOS and FORM SHEET to read about this year's contenders, before you vote!
  9. Don't forget to check back on this page from time to time, especially in race week, to see if there are any late withdrawals owing to injury or illness. You may then wish to make other Picks.
