STWM Tribes Program

New this year is our Tribes program, in which we aim to promote and showcase the various running clubs in Toronto, the GTA and across North America. Below is a list of the current tribes training for #STWM 2014. We encourage you to change your training up, and try something new by running with some of these amazing groups!


Black Lungs Toronto

Black Lungs Toronto

Who we are:

Black Lungs Toronto is a performance based running club where running, training and racing to the best of our abilities is our primary objective.

All members of the Black Lungs are highly competitive and committed distance runners. We value endurance and speed, and are particularly interested in creating success at the marathon distance. We are committed to training seriously (following 'the program'), to competing (racing), to displaying club colours and to each other (training together and contributing to the camaraderie of the group).

When we run:

  • Thursdays: Speed/Interval workouts
  • Sundays: Long runs

Brampton Benders

Brampton Benders

Who we are:

The Brampton Benders Running Club was formed by a group of like-minded people who love to run, improve their fitness and socialize in a positive, supportive environment. We promote running related activities, and will explore areas in the community where we may provide assistance.

When we run:

  • Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm
  • Sunday mornings at 8:00am
  • Several days during the race for practice runs

Fleet Feet Buffalo

Fleet Feet Buffalo

Who we are:

A half-marathon and full marathon training group. Our members will have 2 coaches available by email anytime and will be provided a complete training schedule that includes runs with and without the group. We meet officially once a week on Saturday mornings.

When we run:

Our 2014 Fall Distance Group training begins Tuesday July 1st with our first official meet up on Saturday July 12th. With group runs every Saturday leading up to the race.

Night Terrors Run

Night Terrors Run

Who we are:

Take a step into the night. Run. Train. Race. We run just because. There are no boundaries for the Night Terrors. As of 2014, Night Terrors crews can be found in the following North American cities: Toronto, Ontario (Canada) Los Angeles, California (USA) Miami, Florida (USA). We are not an exclusive running crew. Everyone is welcome to join us for our official running nights. Beginner runners: you've come to the right place, Seasoned runners: we enjoy running as much as you, speed or long.

When we run:

  • Mondays at 9pm, distance 5k–8k
  • Thursdays at 8pm, distance 12k and up

Pace & Mind

Pace and Mind

Who we are:

Based in Toronto and Montreal, Pace and Mind offers premium coaching for runners who run for their life; both physically and mentally progressing to achieve goals on and off the road.

Their highly custom-training programs and community runs are based on: Individuality, Progression, Recovery, Motivation, Engagement and Community. Unlike traditional programs and clinics, Pace and Mind coaching programs are built directly by Head Coach Rejean Chiasson, a Canadian Marathon Champion and 4x half-marathon Canadian medalist. They are powered by TrainingPeaks software to ensure data accuracy and a powerful listening tool for the coach. Lastly, Pace and Mind aims to create an inclusive community by integrating the runner into community runs and socials to create the best running experience possible.

You have one life to live. Run for your life.

When we run:

  • Fridays at 6pm, group interval/fartleks
  • Sundays at 8am, long runs, June–September. 8:30am, September–June

Tribe Fitness is a Toronto fitness community sweating for social good. We offer a variety of inclusive and unique free and pay-what-you-can yoga and run programs helping our members stretch the boundaries of what they thought was possible, in fitness and in life.
