Come out and volunteer! Be part of a great event, support local charities, and all volunteers get a FREE T-shirt! Registration will re-open for STWM volunteers on March 12, 2012.

 

Volunteer Positions

An event the size of the STWM requires 3,000 volunteers in order to run smoothly. Check out the job descriptions below and when volunteer registration opens, choose the one that suits you best!

You will be responsible for taking the participants' bags and returning them to them after they have finished their race.

We will provide everyone with lunch at Baggage Check.

Medal Unwrapping and Charity Challenge Pickup Setup

You will be responsible for sorting the medals and unwrapping them for our 22,000 participants! We will be sorting them by distance — 5k, Half Marathon and Marathon. We will also be needing your help with setting up the Charity Challenge Packet Pickup area.

Greeters

greeters

Greeters have a very important role at our event. They are responsible for answering participant questions about the event and helping everyone navigate around our Health and Fitness Show! They are basically information booths on foot!!

finish line setup

Finish Line Set Up

You will be assisting with the setup of our Finish Line! You will be setting up barricading, fencing and banners along Bay Street. This job will be fairly physical with some heavy lifting (the barricades) and being able to tie banners to the barricades/fencing.

You will be responsible for directing participants, encouraging them, and making sure they stay on route.

You will be responsible for marshalling the Marathon & Half Marathon Start corrals! This means you'll be standing between each separate starting colour and making sure the participants are staying behind the rope!

Join the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Green Team and help make our race the greenest race in Toronto! Volunteers can help make this a great community event by collecting and separating recyclable items used by runners and participants.
