Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia is a rare type of lymphoma. WM is a slow growing cancer that can be managed as a chronic disease for a number of years. However, it is not yet curable. Orphan diseases such as Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia do not receive support from the Canadian Cancer Society or other agencies and therefore it’s through the generosity of our members, their family and friends that we can raise awareness and hope for those living with this rare cancer.
The mission of the WMFC is to support all Canadians with WM (and their families) by providing a range of services including: education, personal contact and support, support for accessing and navigating medical treatment, advocacy and support for research, links to the medical community … leading to enhanced quality of life and ultimately a cure for WM.
