COVID-19 Policy – Updated March 21, 2022
Following the guidelines of Athletics Canada, Athletics Ontario & Toronto Public Health, we have removed the requirement to show proof of vaccination for all eligible participants.
All participants registered for an in-person event must collect their race kit from the Expo. They will not be shipped before the Expo or after the race, nor will they be available for pickup after the Expo. The deadline to transfer to a virtual event online is Oct 13th at midnight and can be done through the registration form transfer tool. After this time, all transfers must be made in-person at the Expo, and one can do this transfer on behalf of another with written permission and a copy of the original race confirmation email.

Registration Policies:
- Registration fees are non-refundable and non-deferrable to another year as noted in the registration waiver.
- If you purchased RegShield registration protection insurance upon registering, you can file a claim here: https://refundrequest.fanshield.net/#/
- As the online transfer deadline has passed, the following changes can only be made in-person at the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon Expo on Oct 13 or 14:
- Transferring to a different in-person distance
- Transferring your entry to a different participant
- Changing your estimated finishing time/corral
- Transfers into a Virtual event can still be made online using the Transfer Tool until October 12 at midnight. After this time, all transfers must be made in-person at the Expo, and one can do this transfer on behalf of another with written permission and a copy of the original race confirmation email.

Race Kit Pickup
All participants in the In-Person race must pick up their Race Kit at Race Kit Pickup.

Baggage Check
Marathon and Half Marathon Baggage Check will be located in Nathan Phillip Square, just north of Queen St. It will be open from 7:00am – 3:00pm for these distances.
5K Baggage Check will be located in Nathan Phillips Square, just north of Queen St. It will be open from 5:45am – 10:30am. Please note that if you want to check your bag, the last shuttle from Nathan Phillips Square to the 5K start line is at 7:00am sharp.
There will be no Baggage Check at the 5K Start.
Baggage Check Rules:
- You must use your clear drawstring kit bag (image at right)
for your Baggage! Absolutely no other bags will be accepted. The kit bag will be included in your race kit and is sized appropriately so that all bags checked on race day will fit in the baggage check areas, ensuring efficiency at both check-in and pick-up.
- Width = 14 inches

- You will receive a sticker in your bib envelope that corresponds to your bib number. You must attach this sticker to your bag in the box marked “PUT BAGGAGE STICKER HERE”.
- We strongly recommend that you leave your valuables at home! The TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon is not responsible for lost or stolen property, including any and all property checked at the Baggage Check.
- Baggage Check will close
- 10:30 a.m. for the 5K
- 3:00 p.m. for the Half Marathon & Full Marathon
- ANY bags not claimed by this time will be available for pick up at the Canada Running Series office at 2 Berkeley St, Unit 305, Toronto ON, M5A 4J5, during our office hours. Start Line
21K start time: 8:45 a.m.– 9:15 a.m.
Please arrive to the start area 1 hour before the start of the race, at 7:45 a.m.
Start line location: On University Ave., just north of Queen St., facing northbound.
21K participants will be organized in start corrals, based on individual expected finishing time. Your assigned corral will be indicated by the colour on your bib. On race day, corrals will be identified by coloured flags, look for the flag that matches your bib.

Course Restrictions
Entry Limit
21K: maximum 11,000 participants
Nordic Pole participants are welcome.
Baby Strollers are welcome in the 5K event only.
For the safety of all participants, baby backpacks, skateboards, roller blades, Kangoo Jump shoes, animals and unauthorized bicycles & wheeled devices are not permitted in the race.
Time Limit
The time limit to complete the 21K course is 3 hours and 30 minutes.
Finish Line
The finish line will be located on Bay St, just north of Queen St.
Post-Race Area at Nathan Phillips Square
The Post-Race Area is located in Nathan Phillips Square near City Hall (110 Queen St. West) in Toronto. Expect activations from Garmin, Athletic Brewing Co., ASICS & Running Room, Bausch + Lomb, and more.
