Race Day Schedule

Everything you need to know about Race Day can be found in your Participant Handbook.

We recommend downloading and saving it to your phone so you can review this information leading up to race day.

STWM 10K Participant Handbook

Step 1 – Arrive at venue

Approximately 3 weeks before the event, you will be assigned an arrival time between 7:40 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. based on the estimated finishing time you provided during registration. This is when you should arrive at the Staging Area (see step 3 below). If you arrive early, please stay in your vehicle or in an area where you can maintain physical distance until it is time to move to the staging area.

Note – Providing an estimated finish time will help us ensure you are assigned to the appropriate starting corral. If you would like to start at the same time as a friend or family member, please enter the same finishing time. Entering a unique finishing time, such as 58 minutes instead of 60, will make it more likely that you are assigned to the same starting corral, but isn’t guaranteed. Once arrival times have been assigned, we are not able to make any changes.

More information will be provided about parking and public transit options closer to the event date.

Step 2 – Proceed to the Vaccination Verification Tent and/or Toilets (if needed)

  • Vaccination Verification: If your race kit was mailed to you or you weren’t able to provide proof of vaccination at race kit pickup, you will be required to show your proof of full vaccination and government issued photo ID on race day at the Vaccination Verification tent. Runners will not be able to participate without receiving a verification sticker from event staff.
  • Toilets

There will be no race day kit pickup or baggage check available at this event.

Step 3 – Arrive at the Staging Area

  • Your Race Bib must be worn on race day to access the staging area. Your Race Bib will be included in your race kit.
  • Please arrive to the staging area within your assigned arrival time.
  • The staging area will be a designated area for participants ONLY.
  • Current Public Health guidelines require that masks must be worn and physical distancing must be maintained in the staging area.
  • A race official will guide you toward your assigned starting corral where you will wait until your start time.

Step 4 – Escorted to the Start Line

A race official will escort your start corral to the start line to begin your race. Please listen carefully to the instructions provided by our team on race day to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment.

Based on current public health guidelines, we estimate the amount of time you could be waiting in your start corral to be 15-30 minutes. Participants will be required to wear masks and physical distancing must be maintained in the start area.

Step 5 – Race Time

There will be 1 Hydration Station on course at approximately 4K. This station will include water, Nuun, toilets and medical staff. You are encouraged to bring your own hydration. If you choose to use the station on course, please try to dispose of your cups in the receptacles provided.

Current Public Health guidelines DO NOT require that masks must be worn while you’re on the course. You may take your mask off after you cross the start line, but hang on to it as you will need to put it back on at the finish line.

Step 6 – Finish Line

Once you cross the finish line, please keep moving as you celebrate your accomplishment!. Water and Nuun will be available at the post-race hydration station, you will receive your finisher medal, and snacks will be included in your finisher’s bag. Please continue through the finish chute and avoid gathering in and around the finish area.

Current Public Health guidelines require that masks must be worn in the finish line area. You will be required to put your mask back on after crossing the finish line and physical distancing must be maintained throughout the finish chute.

Step 7 – Post-Race

We will not be able to offer any post-race activities this year. Once you are outside the finish chute, we encourage you to continue your celebration at one of Toronto’s many fabulous restaurants and pubs!
