TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon Unveils 2026 Medal and Official Race T-Shirt Designs Celebrating Toronto’s Running Community

TORONTO, ON (August 28, 2026) — Canada Running Series unveiled the 2026 TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon participant medal and official race t-shirt designs Wednesday at The Carbon Bar in downtown Toronto. This year’s designs are inspired by the community spirit, energy and shared experience that define race weekend in Toronto.

The 2026 medal pays tribute to the overwhelming response from the community following the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon’s move to Yonge Street in 2025. Designed by Mike Hutchinson, the medal captures the sense of connection and celebration that made the new start location such a memorable part of race weekend.

“The response we received when we moved the start of the marathon to Yonge Street last year was incredibly meaningful,” said Charlotte Brookes, Chief Executive Officer, Canada Running Series. “The community embraced the change and created an incredible atmosphere along the route, and there was a real sense of connection between the race and the city. As we continue at Yonge Street in 2026, this year’s medal is a celebration of that community spirit and the people who make race weekend so special.”

The official race t-shirt was also unveiled during the event, offering another creative interpretation of the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon experience. Designed around two runners moving together within a circular spiral, artist Emily described the artwork as representing unity, continuous growth and the shared journey of the marathon. The design incorporates the sun and Toronto’s iconic CN Tower, capturing the energy and vitality of the city while drawing on Indigenous symbolism to honour connection, movement and the cycles that bring people together.

Together, the medal and t-shirt designs celebrate the people and places that make the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon more than a race. They reflect the energy of Toronto, the pride of the running community and the shared experience created when the city comes together for race weekend.

The evening brought together Canada Running Series representatives, partners and the artists behind this year’s designs, who shared the inspiration, creative process and stories behind their work. The event provided a first look at the designs ahead of race weekend and highlighted the intersection of running, art, culture and community that is central to the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon experience.

“We’re proud to continue our partnership with Canada Running Series and support an event that unites sport, technology, creativity and community,” said Manmeet Chhabra, Country Head, Canada, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). “The TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon celebrates the city and the people who make it such a vibrant place to live, work and run. This year’s medal and shirt designs reflect that spirit and give participants a lasting memento of race weekend.”

This October 16 to 18, 2026, the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon will welcome more than 100,000 athletes, enthusiasts and supporters. The event has raised over $53 million for Canadian charities since 2003 and generated $50.3 million in economic impact for the City of Toronto in 2024, further cementing its reputation as one of Canada’s largest and most impactful marathons.
